About Iditarod

The Iditarod Trail Committee (ITC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Winning bids may claim a charitable contribution deduction for the excess of the purchase price paid for an item over its fair market value. A contribution report is sent with the credit card receipt once the auction has closed.

About The IditaRider Program: The Iditarod starts on the first Saturday in March with an opening ceremony in Downtown Anchorage. This ceremonial start is not the official start of the race but a ceremony showcasing each musher the day before the official start, also known as the restart, which takes place in Willow, Alaska. Each sled leaving the starting line will have an IditaRider in the basket. These rides were purchased as a part of our IditaRider auction.  The race bibs that the mushers will be wearing during the Ceremonial Start will be autographed and then auctioned off to race fans. More about the IditaRider here: https://iditarod.com/video/what-is-an-iditarider/
